Baredi in Purulia refers to the traditional Baredi festival or Baredi culture, celebrated in Purulia district of West Bengal, India. It is often linked with the rural culture of the area, particularly the Baredi community. The glorification of Baredi in Purulia is typically related to their folk traditions, rituals, and cultural practices.
Here are some things that are glorified or celebrated in the context of Baredi culture in Purulia:
Chhau Dance:
One of the most significant cultural elements is the Chhau dance, which is a traditional masked dance form associated with the Purulia region. It's a dramatic performance, often depicting mythological themes, and is performed during festivals.
Baul Songs:
The Baul tradition, which is popular in rural Bengal, also has a strong presence in Purulia. Bauls are mystic folk singers who glorify love, nature, and spirituality through their songs.
Nature worship:
is often central to Baredi culture, where people glorify natural elements like trees, rivers, and mountains. Local deities are often connected with natural forces, and reverence for nature is expressed through various festivals and rituals.
These traditions contribute to the cultural identity and pride of the Baredi people in Purulia, making the district a unique and vibrant part of West Bengal's cultural landscape.

Such a great experience indeed to watch the rising moon from the hill range. Staff behaviour was good, food was too. The only concern was it was little bit interior from the main road. But one should enjoy complete village type accomodations with all modern equipments. I must appreciate Mr. Avijit the owner of the eco stay as he and his team is very much co-operative in every sense. Thanks to them.
Great place to stay in Purulia. Nestled in the kuhuburu hill in the ajodhya rang this eco camp offers great scenic beauty. There is a waterfall and a valley which can be accessed with a Little trekking. If someone is adventure lover then the road leading to the site is the perfect one. The hospitality is superb. The host Mr. Avijit is nice person who can accommodate all your needs. You can enjoy local chhow and adibasi dance performance. You can savour their lipsmacking food with freshly harvested vegetables of their own farm. Overall very enjoyable stay.
